CIM UPC has the ability to design and manufacture 3D printers using and hybridizing FFF, DIW, DLP, Pellets technologies. This knowledge is used for research projects in new material and additive manufacturing techniques. The materials that can be 3D printed are metals, ceramics, biotints, silicones, thermoplastics, etc.
The co-developing process with thec lient( researcher from the university, research center or company), always begins with the determination of the specifications of the printer matching the objective of the project.
Based on this premises, the different system alternatives are evaluated technically and economically in order to find the best option.
The average period for designing and manufacturing a custom 3D bioprinter varies from 4 to 8 months.
